Yesterday we had a vegetarian leftovers night, eating through the remainder of the week's tasty offerings. To complete the meal, we decided to bake the box of spinach and kale bites from Trader Joe's ($3.99) that keeps falling out of our freezer because it doesn't quite fit. (Yes, somehow our freezer is still that full.)
This frozen item was recommended by a bunch of people on the Trader Joe's Chowhound threads, and I love hors d'oeuvres, so I picked up a box at the store a few weeks ago. I figured it would make a good vegetable side or snack.

The bites are really easy to make. Just lay them out on a baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes. There are 10 bites to a box. Couldn't be simpler.
We thought the bites were pretty good. They're spinach and kale mixed with butter, cream, and cheese, which is a good combination. The only negative for me is that I had a piece of stalk (probably kale) in one of the bites that was still really tough and fibrous, so I couldn't eat that part. It was pretty obvious since the rest of the bite was soft. Other than that, they were good.
Buy Again? Maybe, if we're looking for vegetable hors d'oeuvres. For an everyday snack or side dish, probably not, just because there are so many other options (which are also cheaper).
