Sigh. Only 15 minutes wasted deciding that :P
Off we went to Trini Paki Boys, one of our favorite carts in the area. It's a bit of a walk for me, but it was a nice day, and I'd get to see M during lunch which is always a plus. For those that don't know, Trini Paki Boys is a Trinidadan-Pakistani food cart serving a fusion of both cultures' foods, though it apparently skews more towards Trini, along with the standard chicken/lamb over rice. M and I both opted for the Chicken Biryani which is offered Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Thursdays they offer Goat Biryani.
M got the medium, and I got the large. We happily bundled our goods and departed back to our respective office to enjoy our spicy goodness. Along with the biryani, they also offer to pile on vegetables (this time it was cabbage, chickpeas, and potatoes), salad of lettuce and tomatoes, and the white sauce and hot sauce.
Some people complain that their biryani is a little dry. Some people also complain that it's too spicy. We both disagree on both accounts. We both like that it's less oily. Also, the spices and vegetable additions really make this extremely flavorful and better than any other biryani we've had in the past. In the end, for the price, the Trini Paki boys never fail to leave us satisfied.
If you're looking to try this out for yourself, check out the Trini Paki Boys cart weekdays at the intersection of 43rd and 6th in Midtown on the NE corner.
